Why "please send your price list" does not work

Glove pricing is a function of configuration, volume, packing and delivery basis. A price list without those variables would be either meaningless or misleading. The fastest route to an accurate offer is a complete first message.

1. Product configuration

Material, powder status, sterility, colour, glove weight, length and surface texture. If you are replacing an existing supplier, sending the current specification sheet is the most efficient option: it lets us confirm item by item what can be matched.

2. Quantity and frequency

An estimated quantity plus the expected order pattern — trial order, monthly requirement or annual contract. A trial container and a twelve-month programme are priced differently, and the difference is significant.

3. Packing preference

Standard dispenser packing, neutral carton or private label. If you need specific carton marking, dimensions or palletisation for your warehouse system, state it at inquiry stage rather than after the offer.

4. Destination details

Country, city, port and preferred Incoterm. The delivery basis changes what is included in the price, so an offer without it cannot be compared against another supplier's offer.

5. Documentation requirements

The document set your compliance process expects. This is the item most often left out of a first inquiry and the one most likely to delay a shipment later. If a requested document is not available for a configuration, it is better to establish that before the commercial discussion.

6. Target delivery date

Production and shipping planning both depend on it, and it determines whether a configuration is realistic within your timeline.

A practical checklist

  • Product family or full specification sheet
  • Estimated quantity and order frequency
  • Packing format and labelling requirement
  • Destination country, city, port, Incoterm
  • Required documentation set
  • Target delivery date

An inquiry containing these six items can usually be answered with a complete commercial offer rather than a request for more information.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to receive a quotation?

Inquiries are reviewed within one working day. Where the inquiry contains the configuration, quantity, packing, destination and documentation requirements, a commercial offer can usually be prepared without a further information request.
